During the summer of 1994, the Christian Medical College and Hospital in Ludhiana, India, received a nine-year-old girl named Sandeep Kaur as an emergency patient after she had been the victim of a horrible accident. The little girl had lost her entire face after it was torn off by a threshing machine.
